IRN'S History
Kim Korth, owner and President, founded IRN, INC. in 1983. From her early experience working for Prince Corporation, now part of Johnson Controls, Inc., and Dunbar, a furniture division of General Mills, Kim observed that small and medium-sized manufacturers had a tendency to run very lean when it came to staffing for market analysis and strategy development. Kim decided to start a firm that would be a resource for these manufacturers to plug in and out of their operations on an as-needed basis. This approach would give a company access to top-notch information and analysis without the expense of maintaining that capability in-house. History has proven that the premise was valid.
Kim and an administrative assistant opened shop in 1983. Today, IRN has fifteen
employees, including five senior level executives and a very talented younger professional staff. We are headquartered in 7,000 sq. ft. of offices in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with an affiliate in Stuttgart, Germany. Our active client base numbers more than 100 companies. We have gained national prominence as one of the premier consulting firms serving automotive suppliers, but our experience extends to many
industries.
